In line with the moment of restructuring of basic education in Brazil, based on educational paradigms, in which the student is motivated to lead their own learning, the
present work aims to develop and apply a Didactic Sequence (DS) with the theme jewelry recovery to teach the content of redox reactions. To this end, qualitative research was carried out. The target audience was a 2nd grade high school class from a state public school in the city of Queimadas–PB, totaling 26 students, aged between 16 and 20. The data collection instrument started from the development and application of an SD, which was planned to be applied in 4 stages, namely: i. Application of the problem situation; ii. Class dialogued with participants; iii. Carrying out the experiment “Cleaning and recovery of jewelry and iv. Assessment of applied SD. To analyze the questionnaires, Bardin's content analysis technique was used. Given the results obtained with the application of SD, it was possible to understand that there was promotion and interaction among students during classes, as well as their interest in the topic at hand.
