From intergenerational knowledge to scientific knowledge: teaching organic chemistry from the tea theme in high school

This research aimed to develop and apply a Didactic Sequence (SD), aiming to provide opportunities for the teaching-learning process of the Organic Functions content linked to the theme of teas with a class of students enrolled in the 3rd Series of High School. To achieve the proposed objective, field research was chosen, with a qualitative approach. The SD was carried out in March 2023 in the municipality of Soledade-PB. The target audience for this study was an elderly woman and a 3rd grade high school class made up of 27 students. All residents in the city of Soledade-PB. The data collection instrument started from the application of a questionnaire, which was composed of 2 open questions, related to the SD applied. To analyze the questionnaires, the answers provided to the data collection instrument were interpreted, as well as faithful transcriptions of the statements made by the research participants. Figures were also used to systematize the results obtained. Given the experiences with the preparation of this research, we observed that the contributions were numerous, firstly, by providing opportunities to work with teaching methodologies that involve students in the teaching-learning process.
