This study aims to analyze the results of the application of a teaching proposal that sought to develop a sensitized look about the local biome through the involvement of students in collaborative construction of a map of the route from home to school, in order to provide notions and questions about the biodiversity present in their region. This proposal used the Science and Technology Museum of the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul as a pedagogical resource and Modelling in Science and Mathematics Education as a teaching method. The research is of qualitative nature, developed with students of the sixth year of Primary Education. The data were collected through pre and post-questionnaire, which were analyzed based on the method of Textual Discourse Analysis. As a result, it was evident that the construction of the route map contributed to the development of the perception that the biome is present in the path from home to school and that its relation with the environment directly affects the local biome. In addition, it was identified that the resources made possible by the interactive museum and modeling contributed to the understanding of fundamental concepts for the development of the teaching proposal through interdisciplinarity.
