This work presents an excerpt of an intervention developed with 14 academics from the 2nd semester of the Rural Education Course. The objective was to analyze the academics' personal didactic models, regarding the four didactic Dimensions proposed by Garcia Pérez (2000), through the lesson plans prepared before and after the intervention. In addition, teaching methodologies and forms of evaluation were also analyzed. Methodologically, this research is qualitative as to its nature and exploratory as to its objectives. Results initially revealed that academics include aspects of Traditional DM in their lesson plans (72%), equivalent in the four didactic dimensions and Only 28% were classified as Technological and Spontaneist. However, after the intervention, there were significant understandings about teaching. Finally, the importance of theoretical-methodological interventions in the initial training of teachers is highlighted, as the insertion of new methodologies for the teaching of Natural Sciences can significantly contribute to more constructivist didactic models.
