The aim of this article is to discuss the selection of historial knowledge for the Primary Education of Santa Catarina, by the first decades of the twentieth century, highlighting their uses and assignments with purpose for the conformation of patriotic subjects. The main idea is to debate about the selection and organization of this knowledge within the School Groups, considered symbols of the Republic educational project and the Isolated Schools, known as the delay representatives. For the following discussion were selected educational programs and reports from the first decades of the twentieth century. They will be analyzed as documents/monuments and perceived as instruments of power, whose speeches are not directly related to the practices they hold, but that still inform representations of practices with reasons, codes, specific purposes and recipients that led to read and interpret the marks and the social interests of a particular time.
