This article intends to highlight the relevance of use, understood as the set of practices through which space is destined for the reproduction of life. The central issue is to discuss the importance of the potential for resistance and strengthening of relationships and/or practices based on use in cities marked by fragmentary logic. From a dialogue, especially with Henri Lefebvre, and considering everyday socio-spatial practices observed in medium-sized cities, it is intended to advocate that in contemporary cities, where the process of distancing and segmentation is increasingly profound, the use can prove to be a founding condition for the possibility of changes in the collective way of living.
