We propose an epistemological contribution by demonstrating that the city-closet, as a hostile environment for LGBTQIA+, does little to facilitate the human psyche, functioning as a producer and product of resentments, depersonalizing and disintegrating subjects. Our text is a bibliographic essay, which analyzes the reverberations of the city-closet for populations that flee gender heteronormativity. We also offer a debate about the relationship between the environment and human formation and its traumatic consequences for the public in question. The results of this work reveal that cities must be planned to also serve minority groups, offering safe environments for social interaction, which allow expressions of identity and affection.
