O “Comitê Intergovernamental para a Promoção de Retorno de Bens Culturais aos Países de Origem ou sua Restituição em Caso de Apropriação Ilícita” da UNESCO durante os anos 1980

Resumo
Este artigo visa discutir a constituição e os pedidos de restituição de bens culturais interpostos ao “Comitê Intergovernamental para a Promoção de Retorno de Bens Culturais aos Países de Origem ou sua Restituição em Caso de Apropriação Ilícita” (ICPRCP) na sua primeira década de funcionamento (1980-1989). O texto é um desdobramento de uma pesquisa de iniciação científica vinculada ao projeto de investigação intitulado “Pelos bastidores da UNESCO: estratégias para uma governança em rede do patrimônio mundial (1970-2020)”, financiado pelo Fundo de Apoio à Pesquisa da Univille. Como resultado, o texto apresenta reflexões a respeito dos posicionamentos do Comitê em processos que discutem a apropriação ilícita de bens culturais de interesse patrimonial, assim como problematiza o seu papel em pedidos de restituição interpostos ao ICPRCP no transcurso dos anos 1980.
