The urban has been structured by a triad composed of fragmentation, homogenization and hierarchization of space, which has been responsible for the emergence of increasingly segregated and segregating cities. Through their practices, real estate agents, both private and public, constitute important elements of this process of change. This article analyzes the practices of three groups of real estate agents acting in the city of São Paulo; they have differentiated access to financial resources, work with different customers and act in different places of the city. Through their actions they contribute to the formation of an urban space that increasingly isolates and separates city residents.
