ABOUT TERRITORIES AND SENSE OF PLACE

Abstract

My aim in this article is to discuss the micro territoriality from the place. Among the concepts, or spatial essences, which refer to solid matter that gives us support, three are important in discussing what I do here: world, place and territory. They delimit ways of being-in-the world of more introspective and lonely for the more interactive and shared. We are beings-in-situation, be in situation is present and unveiling, from our individuality, the world. Places, in turn, only exist from the sharing of experiences among human beings. The geographicity, which expresses the materiality of geographical space, is shared in our daily experiences with sense of place, which expresses exactly this dialogical relationship of being sin motion with places and paths. The essence of the territory is the boundary, the limit. My thesis is that the most visible expression of micro territoriality is the sense of place. Thus, in order to study territories we must study places.
