The use of public spaces in the context of the industrialization-urbanization process historically inserts itself in the midst of the debate regarding the possibilities, potentials and challenges of socio-spatial practices and their relation to one's right to the city. On one side, these spaces provide visibility to the sociability that reveals how complex everyday life is in urban centers, while at the same time, unveiling the limits and challenges of public policies that meet the population's desires, especially popular segments being inserted into rural areas in the context of spatial segregation. Through a group of social practices placed in urban parks in the metropolis of São Paulo and the city of Sorocaba, observations were made regarding the meaning of one's right to the city.
