This study aimed to investigate the use of narratives in qualitative research in the scope of the training of Natural Sciences teachers. This is qualitative bibliographical research selecting and analyzing scientific production addressing the investigation object of this study. To this end, we consulted two databases: Capes Periodicals Portal and the Proceedings of the National Science Research Meeting – ENPEC. Data was interpreted through the Discursive Textual Analysis – ATD. Our results found the increasing use of oral and/or written narratives as a data collection instrument in studies investigating teacher training in the initial and ongoing sphere. The results also revealed that using narratives is more recurrent in research involving teachers at initial training compared with those carried out with teachers in teaching practice.
