In this research, we seek to understand the process of training mathematics teachers through a literature review. We focus on the teacher training process related to the teaching and learning of mathematical concepts and pedagogical practices. The objective of this investigation is to analyze what is shown in scientific productions on teacher training, narratives, and the formation of mathematical concepts. The research is qualitative and is a bibliographic review, whose corpus of analysis consists of theses and dissertations available in the Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations (BDTD) from the period 2013 to 2023. In the analytical movement, the titles, abstracts, keywords, and references related to the theme were identified. These were submitted to Content Analysis procedures, according to Bardin (1979). It is concluded that the theoretical frameworks adopted in the research, the methodology used, and the results achieved, are in line with the focus of this study, as they address narratives as enhancers of concept formation and the teacher training process on the teaching of Mathematics. Finally, we emphasize the relevance of a bibliographic review to identify what has already been produced and how this positively impacts the proposed object of study.
