Abstract

Considering the relevance of children's literature, this work aims to investigate the stereotyped representations of students in teacher training about the wolf character associated with the story "Little Red Riding Hood". The study, of a qualitative nature, was developed in a workshop, remotely through google meet, which included: 1) Previous questionnaire; 2) Presentation of the thematic didactic sequence, with activities about the maned wolf and 3) Final questionnaire to validate the didactic sequence. The results showed that the stereotypes of "bad wolf" are present and also interfere with the recognition of Brazilian animals. In addition, teacher mediation can help with fragmented and stereotyped views that may develop through a fairy tale, thus contributing to science teaching using children's literature.
