The Teaching of Natural Sciences in the initial training of teachers demands practices that provide greater participation, autonomy and emancipation of students. Thus, this work aims to socialize the experiences, in the curricular component Pedagogical Practice in Elementary School (Stage I), of an academic from the Interdisciplinary course in Rural Education: Nature Sciences, from the Federal University of Fronteira Sul (UFFS), Campus Erechim. The main results show the importance of teaching by investigation, thus enabling the problematization and relations of scientific content with the reality of students on the cycle of organic matter (compost). This work can contribute to a critical-reflexive training in teacher training.
