The objective of this study was to present a clipping of the results of the doctoral research completed in 2021, which had as one of the objectives to map the conceptions of practice expressed in the speeches of the students about the supervised internship. The field of research was configured in a degree course in chemistry, of the federal network of education, science and technology of Pernambuco, in the face-to-face modality. The qualitative research made use of the questionnaire as a collection instrument, having performed data analysis based on thematic categorical content analysis. Among the mapped conceptions, we identified the understanding of practices in the supervised internship as a mere application of theory, use of methods and techniques in an instrumental perspective, although other results demonstrate contradictions between the understandings of the investigated group, which sometimes demonstrate a merely pragmatic, instrumental conception of practice, and sometimes they miss understandings that are more grounded in an understanding of approximation with reality in an inseparable relationship between theory and practice.
