Abstract

The Science and Mathematics Teaching Area has grown significantly in recent years in Paraná state, being related to the creation of graduate programs in the Area. Therefore, our study aims to: investigate the theses and dissertations produced in the oldest postgraduate programs in the Science and Mathematics Teaching Area of the state of Paraná with regard to the school levels in which these researches are developed, covering the following research problem: What are the main school levels in which research in the Science and Mathematics Teaching Area takes place, with emphasis on Science Teaching? Also, is it possible to present the research gaps and potentialities of in the Area aimed at these school levels? We used a qualitative approach methodology, of the state of knowledge type, with emphasis on the descriptor: School level of the research. We conclude that there are a predominance of research carried out in High School and Higher Education, demonstrating the significant interest of researchers in both levels of education. Low expressiveness in research carried out in Early Childhood Education, Early Years of Elementary Education, Graduate Studies and non-formal educational spaces.
