Abstract

The aim of this article is to present a mapping of Brazilian scientific production, referring to the years 2018 to 2020, which observes what arguments and methodologies are manipulated to teach Financial Education to children. For this purpose, different databases were consulted as search sources, including the Brazilian Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations (BDTD), the Theses Bank of the Coordination for the Personal Improvement of Higher Education (CAPES), and the Brazilian Portal of Publications and Scientific Data in Open Access Oasis. This bibliographic research aims to understand how the teaching of financial education is being presented to children in kindergarten and elementary school, how this subject is being approached to achieve financial literacy and whether there is, in the treatment of the subject, any link to the child consumption awareness. According to the analyses, it is possible to conclude that Financial Education is essential to contribute to the process of the citizen learning to make decisions clearly related to consumption, so that the students create bases for a balanced relationship with money in adult life.
