The present article aims to analyze the recent migration flows of Ghanaians who moved from the Republic of Ghana in West Africa to Brazil, starting in 2014. The hypothesis presented suggests that the FIFA World Cup event held in Brazil was the main entry vector for Ghanaian migrants into the country, which until then did not figure as a migration destination in the history of Ghanaian movements. The article is divided into two sections, which discuss, respectively, the relationship of the Ghanaian government with the financing of fans and organized supporters' groups, based on the oral reports of three Ghanaian migrants, and the strategies for the migrants’ stay after the expiration of the “Cup visa,” according to administrative data from CONARE, SINCRE, and SISMIGRA.
