Abstract

This paper aims to discuss the teaching of African history and the use of podcasts as a tool in the classroom. It is clear that many teachers find it difficult to address these issues, either because they lack adequate training in the area or because of the impasses and resistance present in school institutions. So we present a brief overview of the state of African historical studies and its connection with the teaching of African history in general, and then we move on to the Brazilian context. In addition, we include an exposition of the educational product, the podcast presented as a product for the professional master's degree program in History Teaching at the State University of Maranhão.
