Abstract

This article’s aim is to reflect on possible anti-racist approaches to teaching African History in basic education through the book Everything good will come by Sefi Atta. It’s divided into three sections. The first discusses African History from the perspective of postcolonial and decolonial studies. The second one reflects on the trajectory and the main issues raised by teaching of Ethnic and Race Relations, linking them to the teaching of African History. Finally, the third section analyzes the categories Africa, women and colonialism through excerpts from the book Everything good will come by Sefi Atta. By proposing to work with Sefi Atta in schools from an anti-racist perspective, we believe that the school teaching of African History enables actions committed to socials’ transformation and justice.
