This study focused on urban mobility seen through the eyes of the main public of public transportation: women. The research took place throughout 2022 and was carried out in the city of João Pessoa, state of Paraíba, with 20 users of two circular bus lines. Interviews and a photographic essay were carried out, in which numerous problems were detected in terms of daily travel, among which the following stood out: the poor quality of transportation, insecurity and the fear experienced by women in terms of violence and harassment. It was concluded that thinking about mobility from a gender perspective still presents itself as a challenge for urban planning and city management, as well as the experiences of moving around the city, especially for those women who live in peripheral areas, are permeated by disputes and reaffirmations of space, with the body as the main protagonist.
