Seville is the prototype of a Mediterranean metropolis, in which festive sociability gathers people around the celebration of the city. Festivities are deeply linked to urban identity: street culture, season of festivities from the Holy Week to the April Fair, and two exceptional events of the 20th century, the exhibitions of 1929 and 1992, show that urban festivities are not only rooted in the Sevillan way of life, but also used to achieve urban transformations in the capital of Andalusia.
