Abstract

Quero aqui apresentar o contexto dos meus encontros com Mauricio Abreu, assim como os desdobramentos dessas trocas intelectuais, das quais nasceu uma verdadeira amizade. Durante os vinte anos de diálogo, o professor amadureceu seu pensamento e sua prática da Geografia, de forma que, hoje, posso afirmar ter conversado com três figuras distintas: o historiógrafo, o arquivista e o geógrafo da história das cidades.
