In which way do the choices of locational settings within a movie contribute to the transmission of significations and to the understanding of the meaning of dramatic action? This article analyses the importance of these choices and it at tempts to demonstrate that it is possible to provide an original analysis thanks to this geographical way of seeing which exists in the movie. The example of the movie Le Signe du Lion from the director Eric Rohmer was chosen because of the importance given to public spaces in the city of Paris and because of the clear concern of the director for spatiality.
