From time to time, the processes of the historic production of urban space emerges in the setting of research seeking to clarify new aspects, contexts and perspectives according to the need of the conception and transformation of the urban environment. Between the late nineteenth and early twentieth century the town of Franca, small at the time, located in the state of São Paulo, has undergone an intense process of modernization of its urban space, specifically in the central area through many improvements. Apparently what happened in Franca may at first be a déjà vu, however, the objective is to explore and understand how a small town in the inner state of São Paulo assimilated, processed and hinged on the modernization diffusion.
