  • Insignare Scientia Journal
    Vol. 3 No. 2 (2020)

    May/Aug. 2020

The Insignare Scientia Journal (RIS) is a collective action resulting from the work carried out at the Universidade Federal da Fronteira Sul - UFFS, Campus Cerro Largo - RS, in the area of Natural Sciences, linked to the Study and Research Group in Science and Mathematics Teaching - GEPECIEM and the Postgraduate Program in Science Teaching - PPGEC.

In our third year of publication, we have much to celebrate. There were so many submissions that we had to stop accepting them continuously to maintain the quality of the evaluation and editing processes of the volumes and keep the publication on schedule. The quality and dissemination of articles have gradually increased from the assignment of the DOI and indexing processes in different databases. These registrations, currently 13 indexers, provide dissemination in national and international directories, thus expanding the dissemination and visibility of the articles published worldwide.

In this volume, we publish 32 academic papers distributed in the different sections of the RIS, including research results, experiences, and didactic propositions, as a way to project a scenario of a Science education that can think, make itself, and be critical while at the same time reconstructive and transformative.

We take this opportunity to thank the reviewers who donated their time to build new learning experiences and the researchers who submitted their work this editorial year, as ideas are the starting point for scientific development.

May we have a long life for RIS.

We wish everyone a good reading.

Prof. Dr. Roque Ismael da Costa Güllich - Editor of RIS

  • Special Edition: Training Cycles in Science Teaching
    Vol. 2 No. 3 (2019)

The special edition: "Training Cycles in Science Teaching" presents experience reports prepared by the participants of the Subproject Training Cycles in Science Teaching over the years 2018 and 2019. The reports contemplate the dilemmas and training needs of those starting in teaching and those who have been in the classroom for longer. Furthermore, the reports address teaching practices developed and experienced within the scope of the Teaching Initiation Program (PIBID), the Pedagogical Residency, the Tutorial Program (PETCiências), the Supervised Curricular Internships, and the Teaching Practices experienced in the UFFS Undergraduate Courses and school contexts. We emphasize that the texts indicate that it is necessary to believe in the potential of teaching and the theorization of practices, reinforce the need for constant teacher training, and strengthen the relationship between university and school.

  • Insignare Scientia Journal
    Vol. 1 No. 3 (2018)

    Sep./Dec. 2018

The Insignare Scientia Journal is the result of a process of investigation, training, and action by a teaching collective from the Universidade Federal da Fronteira Sul - UFFS, Campus Cerro Largo - RS in the area of Natural Sciences and their Technologies, linked to the Study and Research Group in Science and Mathematics Teaching - GEPECIEM, the Extension Program Formative Cycles in Science and Mathematics Teaching, and the Postgraduate Program in Science Teaching - PPGEC.  The first volumes are compositions demonstrating the effort of areas that participate in the scope of this journal with different themes and propositions allocated in the different sections of the magazine.

In our third issue of volume 1, we are pleased to include research articles, thesis synthesis, experience reports, and the first review, as the Insignare Scientia Journal aims to become a broad space for contributions from teacher-researchers about their practices, as a way to showcase the living curriculum of schools and institutions.

We follow the path of celebrating our first year of publication and look forward to new achievements.

We extend the invitation to colleagues in the field as reviewers and to submissions on a rolling basis.

    Happy reading.

Our joy is celebrating the launch of the first volume, as we are in a festive mood. We are even aware of the great challenges of the future, among them engaging in dialogue with basic education teachers, striving to develop a scope that becomes a reference in research, expanding the international insertion of productions and researchers, and especially maintaining and expanding the collaboration network with researchers in our field.

We know the importance of evaluating writing and publishing qualified productions, and we are committed to this. With this commitment, we invite everyone to the formative dialogue.

We especially thank the researchers who submitted papers in this initial endeavor, as ideas do not take shape without accreditation.
