The growing demand for pedagogical approaches that integrate theory and practice in Physics teaching, as well as the intersection between science, technology and society, is fundamental to preparing students for the environmental and technological challenges of the contemporary educational context. In this context, this study aims to present reflections derived from the experience acquired in a Physics project, developed in the mechanics discipline, which involved the construction, execution and application of a didactic model using solar energy for irrigation, linked to an extension project at the University Federal Government of Piauí. This study highlights the importance of sustainable energy in teaching Physics by exploring the use of the Photovoltaic Pumping System (SFB) as a teaching tool in a rural school in the semi-arid region of Piauí. In this context, it aims to present reflections derived from the experience acquired in a Physics project, developed in the mechanics discipline, which involved the construction, execution and application of a didactic model using solar energy for irrigation, linked to an extension project at the Federal University of Piauí.
