Abstract

The research goal is to develop a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) about the use of fanzines in science classes. The investigation was made in secondary character and established the following guiding question: “What is the scenario of research in Brazil on the use of fanzines for Science Teaching from 2017 to 2022?”. This research was made as it is defined under specific protocols for searching publications in virtual environments. The ten scientific works included in this review were taken from three different digital sources and then examined deeply. The results show that Elementary School popped out as the main educational segment in which fanzines were used in science classes, generally showing matters related to diseases and environmental impacts. In addition, it was found that fanzines are multifaceted didactic resources, which can be key elements in a teaching-learning process, but it is pertinent to consider their association with other tools and teaching practices, aiming to expand their pedagogical potention. The content of the publications that made up the SLR allowed the gathering of important qualitative and quantitative elements on the use of fanzines in the context of science teaching.
