This work aimed to propose a pedagogical script of studies, relating critical mathematics education and food based on data from the PENSSAN Network report (2021) in a statistical analysis. (2021) in a statistical analysis. Using concepts of critical mathematical education, supported by authors like Skovsmose (2014), Sasseron e Carvalho (2016) and linear correlation according to Morettin e Bussab (2017), in an attempt to relate the unemployment rate in the years 2020 and 2021 and the growth of the food insecurity index. Based on the correlation coefficient analyses, the relationship between variables was confirmed. Then, it is a viable pedagogical proposal, with the use of easily accessible technologies.
