This paper analyzes the political articulation of the Triângulo group in the Third District (rural area) of the Federal Capital of the newly established Republic of Brazil. Their domain and control of political power were secured and maintained through the commitment and command of the city supplies of carne verde (fresh meat). This group attained legitimacy through elections and became a reference and a political force in the rural area of Rio de Janeiro.
