This paper discusses the slave population and its dynamism in Palmas (Paraná State, Brazil) properties during the nineteenth century, featuring activities like cattle raising and agriculture in small properties. Not as numerous as the ones found in big plantation properties, these populations have increased during the second half of the nineteenth century.
