This article intends to discuss the musical trajectory of Rio Grande do Sul singer Elis Regina, who began her musical career at radio station, in Porto Alegre, in the early 1950, and who has achieved great success on television in 1965. The aim of this work is study how working in radio has influenced her musical style and her professional career. Reception studies, vocal performance and the relationship established with phonographic industry, media and audience were analyzed.
