Abstract

The article emphasizes interpretations and conflicting practices in social relations lived in Uberlândia, Minas Gerais, mainly in the second half of the 20th century and early 21th century. The proposal is based on the analysis of the class distinctions that compose urban occupation and the production of the city, that motivated the discussion of identification and dissent processes among workers, starting from a field of contradiction and social inequalities. This intention led me to inquire the mode as these social subjects act and see themselves in the historical process in progress, when they produce memories and indicate a shared social experience.

Keywords: social experience, workers, city, memories, Uberlândia (Minas Gerais, Brazil).
