This article addresses the Palestinian contemporary art from the artwork by Manal Deeb. Presented in diverse Western media, Palestine, inserted in the "Arab World‟, is targeted by stereotypes and generalizations. This research analyses how Manal Deeb makes use of her artwork to convey other kinds of information about Palestine, and, inasmuch as, presents other stories about the subjects of that region. In problematizing identities, Manal appropriates senses of positivity in relation to Palestinian people, and from her own trajectory, challenging the homogenizing media news.
