Abstract

This paper proposes a reflection about the use of the urban public space as support for artistic events based on the work of Roadsworth, a Canadian artist who uses screen printing and graffiti techniques to register his works on streets and sidewalks, where they share the space of "legitimized” signs, such as crosswalks and others. They are interventions which satirize urban iconography, changing and subverting its codes.

Keywords: urban art, patrimony, cities, graffiti.
