Abstract

The research is about the Hemispheric Defense policy developed during World War II by the United States of America (USA) in alliance with Brazil to confront the threats of the Axis countries on the continent. The problem put here is the interpretation of the way it was understood by both Brazilian military authorities as Americans, the strategic landscape drawn between the start of the war and the effective participation of the armed forces of Brazil in that conflict, with respect to a particular danger. Here it is examined the risk - real or potential - represented by members of German, Italian and Japanese communities to Brazilian national security.
