This article analyzes the relations developed in the platinum border during Riograndense Civil War, between the years of 1835 and 1845. This place was important not only for political and military alliances between big heads, but as a place of possibilities for common people that saw it as a space of options in a pugnacious context. Like so, from contemporary documentation appraisal to the conflict and the New Military History assumptions, the platinum border is analyzed taking into consideration its idiosyncratic character, which was extremely important and influential in the daily lives of people who inhabited the region at the moment of war.
