Global history is in constant academic dispute and represents a space for narrative, thematic and theoretical-methodological experiments. Through the bibliographical review on the subject, this article aims to present a balance about the criticisms and propositions of several authors for the field of global history. To recognize the criticisms of the global turn can help to overcome its historiographic weaknesses and favor the improvement of research aimed at contemplating the multilevel connections and interactions between themes, spaces and subjects.
