A semiotic register, from Raymond Duval's perspective, contains rules that allow the combination of discrete units in order to make sense and thus be shared by a group of people. This is thecase of the register in natural language, the most important semiotic system because it has the main function of communication, not only of social contents or even of the contents of subjects, but of the didactic relationship that needs to be established in the classroom. The question of text comprehension necessarily involves the analysis of the variables that surround the organization of the text and the cognitive content that it is intended to communicate. This work aimed to bring semiocognitive elements that could illuminate the issue of text comprehension in mathematics learning.
