CIDADES journal system update

The OJS platform, used by the Universidade Federal da Fronteira Sul (UFFS) to manage its journals, which also hosts the journal CIDADES, has been experiencing instability and operational difficulties, which has hampered the process of submitting and evaluating articles. Furthermore, the UFFS Journal Portal has also recently suffered cyber attacks, which forced us to limit the hours during which the CIDADES journal website can be accessed.

At this time, we expect to resolve these issues by updating the OJS system, which will leave the journal offline between February 25 and March 1, 2025.

We ask for everyone's understanding and hope to return to normal operations starting March 2, 2025.

CIDADES is a publication aimed at disseminating research and scientific reflections that involve understanding urban issues from a preferential perspective, but not exclusively geographic.
The journal aims to contribute to expanding our ability to read and interpret the urbanization process and cities in a period in which the complexity of the relationships that guide processes and dynamics has deepened and the pace of transformation has accelerated.
Founded in 2002 under the responsibility of the Urban Studies Group (GEU), CIDADES is today based at the Universidade Federal da Fronteira Sul, where it is linked to the research line 'Production of urban-regional space' of the Postgraduate Programme in Geography .
From the volume 15, number 25, of 2023, we have begun publishing texts in a continuous way in order to speed up the editing work and dissemination of content produced by authors. From the volume 16, number 26, of 2024, we have begun publishing only one annual number.
