This article emerges from the natural reflections of the research that resulted in the master's thesis, on the teaching of Chemistry in Youth and Adult Education, mediated by the workshop methodology of learning, using the Science, Technology, Society and Environment (CTSA) approach, as a contribution to the perspective focused on citizen education. The proposal emerges from the problem situation experienced as a teacher, with the questioning of the potentialities of relating the curricular contents of Chemistry for the 1st year of high school to ctsa approaches, in order to promote the understanding and relationship of this knowledge with daily situations of the student. With the proposal to reflect on this issue, we brought as general objective the evaluation of the relationship of chemistry contents, using the theme "Water and its consumption by society", through learning workshops. The thematic organization of knowledge was positive for the conjuncture of THE CTSA approaches and the contents of school knowledge of Chemistry since it was applied in a region rich in water resources, but subject to scarcity of drinking water for public supply and effluent treatment.
