This experience report was developed based on the application of a teaching project entitled "Physics of the Environment: Energy." It consisted of three modules: Module 1 - Environment, sustainability, pollution, energies (renewable and non-renewable) and their respective power plants; Module 2 - Simple electrical circuits; Module 3 - Mechanical energy: Kinetic, gravitational potential, and elastic potential, conservative energy system. It was implemented at Professor Raimundo Guerra Municipal School, located in the municipality of Caicó/RN, in a Science Club composed of students from the 6th to the 9th grade of Elementary School. The dynamic interaction, social and intellectual practice is developed from self-reflective thinking within the scientific field. The students were participative in discussions, proposed challenges, written productions, and practical experimental activities, especially when the dialogues were brought into the students' everyday lives. Some students faced difficulties in the specific part of mechanical energy and its conservation in the system. Also, in the oral transcription of scientific language, as many remained only in the realm of commonsense. In summary, it is crucial that activities like this are increasingly incorporated into Basic Education, where students can be protagonists in the construction of their own scientific knowledge.
