Initial teacher training is characterized by a process of constant reflection, aiming at the practical application of theory and the development of teaching and learning strategies that enable the collaborative integration of students with knowledge. In this context, pedagogical workshops emerge as a relevant tool to promote the rapprochement and interaction of subjects in the classroom. Therefore, this work aims to report the experience of a graduate student in the Biological Sciences Degree course at the Federal University of Pernambuco, during the Mandatory Supervised Internship II discipline. The proposal for the intervention project consisted of holding a workshop as part of the "Biology in Action" event, organized by interns and residents at an educational institution in the metropolitan region of Recife aimed at high school students. Based on observation and questions made to students through a short questionnaire, active participation and critical-reflexive training of students was verified regarding the relationships between botany, history, art and culture.
