The initial training of teachers is characterized by a process of constant reflection, aiming at the practical application of theory and the development of teaching and learning strategies that enable students' collaborative integration into knowledge. In this context, pedagogical workshops emerge as a relevant didactic strategy to promote engagement and interaction among participants in the classroom. Thus, this study aims to report the experience of undergraduate students from the Bachelor's Degree in Biological Sciences program at a Federal University in the Brazilian Northeast during the Supervised Mandatory Internship II course. Therefore, the research has a basic qualitative approach, characterized as an experience report due to its descriptive nature. The intervention proposal consisted of conducting the Botanical Connections workshop, included in the "Biology in Action" event, organized by interns and resident teachers at an educational institution in the metropolitan region of Recife, targeting high school students. Based on observations and student responses from a brief questionnaire, active participation and the stimulation of critical-reflective thinking among students were noted, particularly regarding the relationships between Botany, history, art, and culture.
