Abstract

The present text is a critical review of the book “Teaching Science in Elementary School: Laying the Foundational Stones of Scientific Thinking”, written by Melina Furman, a biologist and doctor in Education and Science. The central idea of the work is the author's inquiry on how to encourage and develop scientific thinking in elementary school students. To answer this question, the author presents fictional scenarios with different methodologies for comparison and highlights inquiry-based teaching or investigative methodology as an extremely viable alternative for transforming the current landscape of Science Education.
