Abstract

Commonly, the theme of Sustainability is approached theoretically and visually from three dimensions – environmental, social and economic, with minimal intersections and, thus, contributing to the imaginary disconnection of dimensions of life that interact constantly and intensely. Seeking to broaden the understanding of the complexity of the topic, in this article we present a proposal for a didactic sequence on Sustainability, which follows the thematic approach of the Three Pedagogical Moments (DELIZOICOV; ANGOTTI, 1990) as follows: 1) initial problematization, identifying the previous concept and analyzing the scientific concept of the term; 2) organization of knowledge, with the expansion of concepts about Sustainability and presenting two models of image representations of its dimensions; and 3) application of knowledge or (re)knowledge of the topic, identifying (or not) new knowledge and encouraging the construction of each student's own image representations for Sustainability. From an educational perspective, this text provides theoretical and visual materials to broaden the understanding of sustainability beyond its conventional approach and towards its complexity, not presenting itself as a model to be followed, but as an inspiration.
