Abstract

Violence against women with disabilities did not originate during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, data from Ligue 180 showed a significant increase in reports in 2020, registering an increase of over 30% compared to 2019. In the report from the Ministry of Women, Family, and Human Rights, schools were not mentioned as disseminating information about reporting channels, which led us to question the approaches to violence against women in educational documents. Based on this information, we intend to problematize, from the post-structuralist perspective of Cultural Studies, the connections between the topic of violence against women with disabilities and science education. In this research, we chose to show the number of reports of violence against women with disabilities, analyze the approaches to this topic in science education, current educational documents, and research on the subject. After collecting the information, we noticed a lack of research, although educational documents indicate potential approaches beyond the School Week to Combat Violence against Women. We emphasize the importance of developing studies that help clarify any doubts students may have about these issues of understanding their bodies.
