Teacher training has been a recurring theme among discussions in the Education. In particular, the training of physics teachers stands out when we consider the demand for this professional in contrast to the reduced number of graduates, partly explained by evasion and its socioeconomic and academic issues. Based on these assumptions, this research aimed to draw an overview of the first decade of the Graduation in Physics (GFL) course, offered by the Federal University of Triângulo Mineiro (UFTM) in the city of Uberaba, Minas Gerais. Exploratory research was carried out, with a quantitative approach, in which we sought to raise the number of graduates and evasion in the course from its beginning, in 2009, to its first decade, in 2018. Among the results, it stands out that the number of trainees per semester is extremely low when compared to the entrants, as well as the underrepresentation of women in Physics. This fact leads to high evasion faced in the considered period and, to the urgency of public policies and institutionalized internal actions for this confrontation, in addition to the conditions that favor permanence to make it possible to conclude the course successfully.
