The environmental impacts caused by economic activities have deforestation as one of the main causes of the devastation of the Amazon. In this article we deal with the development of the Iceberg didactic strategy for the discussion of deforestation in/of the Amazon. The research-training, of qualitative nature was carried out with undergraduate students. The Iceberg schemas related to deforestation and the students' manifestations concerning these schemas, were analyzed by the content analysis method, more precisely the enunciation analysis technique. The results show (in)visibilities about deforestation that the Iceberg has shed light on. The students, when exposing their collective productions, indicate that they apprehended the multiple causes and consequences related to deforestation. The educational practice in question, based on communication and dialogue, proved to be important in the formation of science teachers, by promoting an integrated vision of the Amazon scenario, specifically deforestation in/of the Amazon.
