Abstract

The Mathematics Fairs Network Movement (MFNM) has existed since 1985. It allows for the registration of works in six categories and three modalities - pure mathematics, instructional materials and/or didactic games and applied mathematics and/or interrelation with other disciplines. In order to contribute to the process of choosing the ideal modality for each work, this article presents discussions that delimit what is a work of an interrelated nature with other disciplines through the differentiation of the concepts of some disciplinary articulations. Throughout the text this discussion was extended to the annals of Mathematics Fairs through a Discursive Textual Analysis (DTA) of the 137 works published in this modality over the years from 2014 to 2017. although it is the modality with the highest volume of registration at the Fairs, the typology of publications is very similar, varying between uni and multidisciplinary works, which maintains rigid disciplinary barriers. In addition, the DTA highlighted the need for the MFNM to advance in inter and transdisciplinary work, to privilege what is advocated in the legal documents that organize Brazilian public education, including the National Common Curricular Base, to the detriment of isolated disciplines.
